An inclusive FFXIV roleplay community built for connection.

I.C.O.N. Community Information Center

A community built for stories where the truth cuts deep and every action leaves its mark.

ICON gathers investigators, adventurers, scholars, soldiers, criminals, nobles, and ordinary souls into one shared world of intrigue, conflict, and discovery.

We’re not here to play heroes. We’re here to forge stories that leave a mark. Follow a mystery. Uncover a conspiracy. Expose the corrupt. Question a witness. Chase a lead that takes you somewhere you never expected.

Every investigation is a chance for characters to choose, connect, clash, and leave their imprint on the world. Whoever you are, wherever you come from, whatever side you stand on, there’s a story waiting to be told.

About ICON

FFXIV lore-forward, character-driven roleplay with collaborative structure.

What ICON Is

ICON is a roleplay community built around investigation, intrigue, and collaborative storytelling. We create opportunities for characters from all walks of life to cross paths through mysteries, conflicts, conspiracies, crimes, politics, and personal stories.

You don’t have to be an investigator to be part of ICON. You can be the one seeking answers, hiding secrets, providing information, caught in the middle, or simply looking for your next story. Your character’s choices create connections, shape stories, and open the door to new possibilities.

ICON is a place where individual stories come together to create something bigger.

Investigate. Connect. Create.

Overview

ICON is collaborative writing focused on group ideas, motivations, believable stories, and consequences that feel earned.

  • Collaborative play: strong choices; built by members.
  • Communication first: when in doubt, reach out.
  • Mature themes may appear: politics/violence/hardship—never misery for its own sake.
Communication-first Mature themes Age Requirement: 18+

Our Roleplay

From walk-ups to scheduled arcs, with standards that protect immersion.

Community Story Arc RP

ICON’s sanctioned, evolving narrative. Story Arc play maintains coherence with established rules, tone, and FFXIV lore.

Member Story RP

Community-endorsed missions and gatherings—less formal, while honoring continuity (with flexibility set by the host). Non-lore abiding to remain outside the community roleplay.

The Higher Standard

  • Keep IC & OOC separate.
  • Post in third person.
  • Roleplay game creation races. Garleans being the exception.
  • No god-moding or metagaming.
  • Accept consequences of roleplay.
  • Get OOC consent when needed.
  • Avoid shorthand/L33T.
  • No multiverse / multi-timeline in shared ICON canon & community.

ICON Story System (Playtest)

Player friendly progression system designed to keep mechanics from interrupting scenes.

A custom story system based on Mind’ s Eye Theatre – Vampire: The Masquerade (First Edition), adapted for FFXIV roleplay. It is currently in playtest and refined through live scenes and feedback.

Rules & Expectations

Condensed Guides:

18+: ICON is 18+ (you and your character), including Discord participation.

Onboarding: Discord is required. Story Arc participants need a character sheet—ping a moderator when you’re ready to build one.

Lore policy: ICON uses an opt‑in approach for lore breaking. Story Arc RP stays lore‑adherent; Member Stories may be flexible, but any lore breaking must stay away from the Story Arc and non‑consenting members. Personal/alternate lore‑breaking stories must remain separate from ICON’s shared canon.

Standards: Keep OOC drama out, be respectful, no hate speech. ICON may include mature/darker themes. Excessive Inactivity can lead to removal (especially for Story Arc roles).

Need help? If you’re lost or a conflict needs mediation, contact a moderator.

Be kind: Play nice and keep chat readable.

Profile name: Use your character’s in‑game name only. Keep OOC identifiers out. IC‑friendly titles are fine (e.g., Lord/Lady/Envoy/Ambassador).

Content: Adult language is allowed, but keep images SFW. Spoilers belong in the spoiler channel. Bio/stories are welcome; tag Gore if it exceeds PG‑13 gore. Erotic content stays off‑screen (fade‑to‑black is welcome).

Voice: Be mindful of background noise; adjust member volumes individually as needed.

Platform rules: Follow Discord ToS and Community Guidelines.

AI‑Art neutral: Opt-in Posting. All viewing is left up to the player's choice.

Character Limitations: In ICON canon, avoid god-tier concepts, “Chosen One” WoL status, and ERP-forward themes in public RP. If you have questions about a concept, ask a moderator first.
